What is the difference between tekkit lite and technic

Thaumcraft also introduces the "Taint" - if you've ever played Terraria, the Corruption from that game is similar to the Taint in Thaumcraft. It allows the player to craft different types of books which allow for teleportation between different "ages", which are basically new worlds.

As you get more advanced, you can write your own books, which lets you customize the ages to your liking. For instance, I wrote an age with the "Hell" modifier, which spawned me in a world with a ton of Eldritch Obelisks artifacts of great power in Thaumcraft , which helped me to get ahead on my research.

A few other minor changes worth mentioning: Somnia: Simulates the world while you're sleeping. So, unlike vanilla Minecraft, when you sleep, stuff smelts, crops grow, etc.

Mo' Creatures: Basically what it says on the tin. There's a ton more creatures in Technic than there are in regular Minecraft. Treecapitator: Handy little mod so that, if you chop the bottom of a tree out with an ax, all the wood in the tree falls down at once kind of like real life, eh?

Improve this answer. I'd say Mo' Creatures is a fairly major mod. It may not add many new mechanics, besides rideable creatures, but it causes quite a large change in the world. The world is much more animated thanks to Mo' Creatures. Why the downvote? Was something wrong with this answer?

Now, for reasons that I won't go into, there was a falling out sadly, the minecraft modding community does that a lot and BukkitForge, for lack of a better word, died. The only thing left to do, in order to give people an up to date Tekkit experience, was leave Classic as it was and make a new version, without Bukkit. And that is just what the Technic Team have done. The first thing that people seem to think is that it must have fewer mods.

In the latest dev version of Lite there are 75 mods way more then Classic ever had. So why is it called Lite? The fact that it doesn't have Bukkit means that it's not good for large servers.

The modpacks are usually easier to access and customize, and there have been many updates for this launcher as well which have made it better and more suited to modern use. Tekkit also has a lot fewer requirements as compared to FTB. Tekkit, the current version is a spiritual successor of classic, and the older defunct Technic pack.
