The latter has a slightly better grip, it keeps dye better and is therefore available in more colors than standard leather; it is, however, slightly less durable. Both Minosaka and Jisei offer cotton, silk and leather Tsukaito, however Jisei's catalog contains more colors to choose from. Some Koryu also teach how to use the Sageo as a weapon or to tie an opponent's hands hojujutsu. It is also said that the cord serves as a spiritual bond between the samurai and the sword. Minosaka and Jisei both offer classic cotton and silk Sageo, as well as original models for each workshop.
