But it's also better to try drifting when the game is set on 'Drift' mode as it allows the cars to slide a little bit easier and has the meter already up for you. Maybe you should look at the leaderboards To start drifting, just enter any race like normal but once in the race hit the right button on the D-pad to begin scoring for drifting User Info: jreed User Info: craigstod. AWD cars add a whole new balance to drifting because countersteering will suck you right into the outside edge of the track if your tires aren't way past their grip curve.
FWD cars are extremely hard to drift with continuously, but its still possible, although IMO, not that fun. User Info: LHOswald Please don't: - Respond with anything that can be summed up as "git gud". Get out. As I said, this is within the context of the game. I'm not trying to learn how to drift in a real car, and if I were, I wouldn't be asking about it here.
If the game considers it "drifting", it is drifting. Also, if you're the type of person that goes into YouTube videos for beginners with this kind of nonsense, get off the internet and just stop. You are the definition of everything wrong with gaming culture. Long post, I know, but if you can help out, I would be forever grateful. Rank: Driver's Permit. Hey, it sucks to struggle. I'm a competent and experienced drifter, ill try to help.
Don't completely write of the 'drift bible'. Race tyres OR stock tyres - race for grip and speed - stock for smoothness slower speeds help with this due to reduced grip. Dont be fooled into trying street or sport tyres- too inconsistent grip. Rally springs IMO the best - highest steering angle - therefore higher permitted angle before spin in drift. Street ARB's seriously - its one less thing to tweak in tuning and therefore one less setting to have wrong- once you have the car set then you can add race ARB's if your transitions are too slow.
Rear spring softer than front- increase the difference for more grip, decrease the difference for more responsiveness. I'm having the same frustration with learning to drift This is great input. Question: Is it even possible to reliably drift with automatic transmission?
I'm an ex-citizen of nowhere, and sometimes I get mighty homesick Rank: D-Class Racing License. I wouldnt worry about doing transitions or getting a ton of angle. By definition- power-over means to give full throttle as you're comin out of the corner or the apex, if you wanna be technical. Enter the corner at a moderate speed 3rd gear specifically and be sure to at least have MT settings and, as your exiting said corner, give some extra power and turn into the corner.
Your car should snap into a drift due to sudden loss of traction. When that happens, be ready to countersteer turning the wheel in the opposite direction of your drift. Then, just practice on straightening up. Lastly, the clutch allows you to keep your rpms up, even at lower speeds. Whenever they start to lag, a quick tap of the clutch can save your drift.
Fortunately, there are a bevy of great tunes available online. While it may seem intimidating to hop into a session with randoms who have been drifting religiously for years, the only way to learn how to drift, especially in tandem, is with other live drivers.

I tried other solution with no luck. And after following the above solution. My first attempt is for practise purpose and i've around 10, point lag behind for each check point mentioned i got after 2nd tunnel, after 4th tunnel but still end up around 97, for 1st lap. I continue to play for 2nd lap and as it's much easier for how to control and drift, my drift has above the mentioned checkpoint this time and after last tunnel already around , and end up around , finally.

Select the Bugatti Veyron or experiment and find another car that suits you. Turn off all the assists, and select the full course of Fujimi Kaido. Let it load, and tap the Left Button on the D-Pad. Take it easy in the Veyron. It will reach very high speeds very easily. I found it worked best when you kept it below 70MPH, as it is easier to handle that way.
Make sure to use the Rewind feature if you feel you could have taken a corner better too - there's no punishment for it, and doing it could be the difference between getting your Gamerscore and failing.
There are some sweeping corners on the downhill area of the course. As fun as it may be, resist the urge to drive at high speed. Take it slow, and hold your drifts as long as possible. I was able to get my drift from part of the downhill section to earn 10, points, so trying to do that may help. The best way to make the rear end of the car slide out is by tapping the A Button Handbrake.
Don't hold it too long, as you're only aiming for it to lose traction, and not to spin out altogether. Remember, don't decide to stop during a drift! This will negate ALL the points in that current drift. If you're going to hit a wall, rewind.
