Our story begins with a father and son talking business over a few glasses of vino. They were both experienced business owners who were passionate about the idea of owning and operating a business that they could truly enjoy. One topic led to another and, whether they were inspired by the wine or by the fact that the father, Gary Rhodes, had already owned vineyards, the possibility of founding a new Pennsylvania winery slowly emerged.

While Gary pursued the art of growing grapes and making wine, his son, Bryan, knew that he would excel at operating the business. After careful exploration of possible locations within Western Pennsylvania, in , they finally chose the borough of Volant known for the Volant Mill as the home of this burgeoning enterprise. Its location, only 10 minutes from the heavily traveled Interstates 79 and 80, as well as its proximity to the Grove City Outlet Mall would provide easy access for locals, while attracting travelers to a town they may otherwise have overlooked.

Both were fantastic. Will definitely go again and cannot wait for the new location to open next to Wendell August Forge. Two of the daily specials were slushies and a cheese plate. We purchased the peach slushy, which was very good. The cheese plate consisted of block of Kraft cheese still in the wrapper and a sleeve of ritz crackers still in the wrapper , that is it! Volant winery could have at least sliced a few different cheeses on a plate, and throw a couple of grapes on there!

I would have been embarrassed to serve this to customers. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They treat everyone like friends and family. Nice, comfortable atmosphere. The wine is excellent and their speciality drinks are amazing. Highly recommend Volant Winery. Stopped at Volant Mill Winery to see their offerings.

Very friendly personnel, very knowledgeable about the wines, and led us through a fantastic tasting session. The wines are very good! Only difference with other wineries is the charge for tasting and it is not returned with purchase.

We purchased 6 bottles and also paid for 2 tastings! Very unusual for wineries. Will plan to visit again. This place is an old house right on the street with parking across the street.
