How do i set openoffice as my default
OpenOffice 4. I went in and set Open Office as default app. Now to get rid of Office Win 10 has been a nightmare and I am learning that it's not as great as it is claimed to be. Love Open Office; have used it for years. Never had any problems with Vista, but 10 won't allow OO to be the default. Made all the setting changes, but 10 still opens everything in "Edge".
What are "all the setting changes"? If Windows 10 is ignoring your default program settings, then you should go to a Windows 10 forum for help. From the dialog box that pops up select the program you want to make the default application if it was a doc file then select swriter if you want Open Office to handle these files or Microsoft Word if you prefer that.
You should be able to find it, but if you can't you can press 'Browse' and search for the program's main executable file. Select "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file", and press OK.
